Itinerary:
You will be collected by our air-conditioned four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle. Our tours travel north along the Captain Cook Highway, one of Australia’s most scenic coastal drives towards the World Heritage listed Daintree National Park. You will cross the Daintree River by cable ferry and journey through this spectacular example of Mother Nature, which contains the highest number of plant and animal species that are rare, or threatened by extinction.

Your experienced guide will enlighten your journey with incredible stories and local history as you continue on the 4WD-only Bloomfield Track. This 32km track will take you through some of the most spectacular scenery in Australia, crossing rivers and climbing mountain ranges. We stop for lunch at the famous Lion’s Den Hotel (est. 1875), North Queensland’s oldest running bush pub. We continue to the unique geological oddity, Black Mountain, surrounded in mystery and spoken of in ancient Aboriginal legend.

Our tours arrive in Cooktown where you will have an amazing 360 degree view from Grassy Hill. Vistas of the Coral Sea, the Endeavour River and Cooktown. Have your camera ready! Enjoy free time to explore Cooktown. Our tour returns by the inland road, the Mulligan Highway, through a diverse landscape of cattle stations, the Palmer River Goldfields where one of Australia's richest goldfields was discovered in 1872. The outback of Far North Queensland offers amazing scenery.

1 Day Drive-Fly Cooktown
Itinerary as per tour above. Fly the scenic way back to Cairns. Experience a 45 minute flight with Skytrans Airlines as you fly along the coast between the World Heritage Rainforest (you’ve just experienced by 4WD) and the Great Barrier Reef. On arrival in Cairns you will be transferred to your accommodation.

1 Day Fly-Drive Cooktown
Fy from Cairns to Cooktown along the scenic coast. On arrival you have free time to explore Cooktown. In the afternoon depart Cooktown, travelling on the Mulligan Highway, the inland road through the Outback of Far North Queensland back to your accommodation.

The operator reserves the right to cancel any tour, change vehicle type or arrange an alternative carrier if the numbers in a group is not sufficient. The operator reserves the right to alter the route or itinerary of schedules to an alternative operator if necessary. No refund will be given in these circumstances or in the event of any delay, curtailment or alteration of a trip resulting from any cause including severe weather conditions or mechanical failure. The operator cannot guarantee pick up or drop off times and are not liable for passenger failure to connect with other services. Whilst we make every effort to safe guard our clients and their belongings, we cannot be held responsible for personal injury or loss due to events which are beyond our control. Travel insurance is NOT included.
