A day & night tour experiencing Wildlife in its' natural habitat & coastal to relic mountain Rainforest. The focus here is a remote Rainforest experience seeking hard to find nocturnal & rare Wildlife - the species count is low but the quality/rarity value very high.
Areas visited have a rich plant diversity including species which are not found elsewhere - our highly experienced Guides help you step into Rainforest hundreds of millions of years old. Sightings typically include many birds, some endemic (particularly the Golden Bowerbird), after dark owls, Australia's famous "Duck Billed" Platypus, various endemic Possums including occasionally a White Lemuroid, a possible Lumholtz's Tree Kangaroo or a Amethystine Python & many other unusual mammals, insects & amphibians some found only in this region - & to see a Quoll or even a Cassowary is very exciting! According to the season we often get excellent sighting of Glow-worms & luminescent fungus.
This excursion heads into the remote Mt Lewis wilderness region of the Daintree National Park near Port Douglas - afternoon tea is usually taken at an international renown spot for sighting Blue-faced Parrot-Finches. Dinner is usually taken under the stars by candlelight.
